Creativity
Our Western way of thinking, based on logic and reason, is the great handicap to the creation and appreciation of works of art.
Kokoschka said, "All people are born with genius. All children are inspired artists. Every human being is endowed with genius at birth, the only question is why most lose this gift so quickly, or why is it withdrawn from them."
About Karen
My mother, a fine artists and textile designer was fortunate to have Desiderius Orban for her teacher.
He arrived from Europe, and rather than complain about the art scene in Australia he decided to educate and teach. His students included John Olsen, Coburn Eva Cassidy, Mary Curtis and many others.
While the TAFE Art Schools and the Education department did not follow his methods, many artists did find a new freedom to relearn their way to rediscover their very own creative art.
The Course
To find a sense of freedom to develop your creativity in visual art is the aim of this online course.
To find the potential, that, at the moment, has possibly has not been discovered, you have the creativity, already releasing it anew.
The course aims to facilitate your own very special creativity. Whether you are an experienced artist that has not developed freedom, or a total novice, the main requirement is that are interested in creating art.
"The layman's attitude to a work of art is to see the story it conveys and react through his feelings towards it. He is concerned only with the story. When I say story. I intend its meaning in the broadest sense. A landscape, a still life. A portrait, a nude, tell us their stories as vividly as a conversation-piece or a battle scene. A story, then, is the aim and result of a painter's work. Far less obvious are the aim and result of an artist's work!". Desiderius Orban, What Is Art All About?
"If you do not change your mind about something when you confront a picture you have not seen before, you are either a stubborn fool or the painting is not very good." Robert Rauchenberg.
The difference between the artist and the painter is what we will discover and shine a light on in the creative ART EXPERIENCE.
If you are interested in doing the course of 10 lessons. The cost is $200 payable in 2 instalments of $100 each.
